My first pregnancy was perfect with no complications or worries. I was told that everything looked perfect until one night I felt a decrease in movement from my active little girl. I waited until the next morning, which made me 31 weeks, and she was still quiet so I left work and went to labor and delivery. My husband and I thought it was probably just a scare and everything was going to be fine. Until we heard the nurse say the two words that made that day the worst day of our lives. “Baby passed.” Immediate tears. Frozen in shock. “I’m so sorry” said over and over.
The next day we met our sleeping angel. Romi Kay Crockett.
She was the sweetest little thing we had ever seen. It was somehow the best day of our lives, because we got to hold her in our arms. One week later, we said goodbye for a while at her funeral.
We decided to start trying for her sibling as soon as we could. We prayed and we asked Romi to send them down. We found out we were pregnant with our rainbow girl 3 months later and announced her to our families on Christmas morning. We’re continuing to pray and monitor our little girl to make sure she arrives earth side safely. We expect her in August and our hearts couldn’t be fuller.
