Heather F’s Story

My husband and I have always known we wanted to be parents. In August 2024, we received our first positive pregnancy test, and lost the baby a week later. Late October, we were thrilled to receive another positive, and go on to have a healthy pregnancy. We were over the moon and so excited to meet our daughter, Clara. After a low-risk pregnancy, I went into the hospital at 39 weeks with low fetal movement and heard 4 words that would change my life forever: “there is no heartbeat.” Shock. Devastation. Heartbreak.

I was sent home with some medication to start the induction process, and 53 hours later met our daughter. She was perfect. The sweetest little face, adorable button nose, and 5lb 13oz of perfection.

We left the hospital broken hearted but also adamant on two things: carrying on Clara’s Legacy, and continuing our journey to have living children.

A couple months later we became pregnant again, having a miscarriage in the weeks that followed. We then got pregnant once more, and after a highly monitored 37 weeks of pregnancy, we welcomed our sweet little boy, Arthur, on July 27th.

We’re heartbroken that he’ll never meet his big sister, but know he’ll grow up knowing about her and forming a bond in his own special way.
