Jordie’s Story

My husband and I have been married since July 16, 2016. We began trying for a baby one year later.

We did not get pregnant until March of 2020.

Unfortunately, we lost our baby on Mother’s Day that year to miscarriage.

From there, we worked through four rounds of medication and two IUIs. All were unsuccessful. About six months later, we chose to see a fertility specialist. Immediately, I was diagnosed with a septate uterus, meaning that my uterus never formed correctly. It is likely that this is what caused my miscarriage due to our baby not getting enough blood. The guilt was terrible.

I had reconstructive surgery and went through two more rounds of IUI which were both unsuccessful.

We then moved to IVF. We were lucky enough to retrieve 20 eggs – 12 which turned into embryos. We transferred our first embryo on May 20 and… success!

Our sweet rainbow baby is due February 4, 2023.
