Julia and her husband Travis got pregnant for the first time on their three year wedding anniversary after only a few months of trying to get pregnant. While apprehensive about starting their family, they knew it was the next step and were so excited to bring a new life into the world.
Julia had what seemed to be a fairly normal pregnancy, besides several yeast infections throughout, and a PUPP rash everything seemed to be going normally, her baby boy was growing perfectly and had a healthy heartbeat at every checkup.
Julia went into labor at 41 weeks and 3 days on Wednesday January 27th 2021 right around midnight, after 26 hours of natural labor she had to consent to an emergency C-section because there were some concerns with her son’s heartbeat.
Trenton Edward was born around 2 in the morning on January 28th not breathing. After being resuscitated Trenton was transferred to another local
hospital for a day to be on a cooling blanket, and then to Children’s of Alabama where he would spend the next week on ECMO.
Julia was unable to leave the hospital Trenton was born at until February 3rd due to an untraceable infection. After 5 days together Trenton had a brain bleed
due to the heparin medication he was on to be able to be treated by the ECMO machine and passed away right before 6pm on February 7th 2021.
Trenton passed away surrounded by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and parents. They sang worship songs as he passed away and showered him with all the love they could in such a short amount of time.
Right before Trenton’s first birthday Julia and Travis started thinking about trying again for another baby, but were naturally terrified and uncertain. After one night at therapy, their therapist talked to them about what it meant to live by faith and not by sight and how to live that out. That night they decided that they would try one month only and if it was meant to be then it would be.
After one try they got a positive test. Julia could hardly believe it, and knows that this pregnancy has been God ordained. They are now expecting Josephina Avarie, Trenton’s little sister, on December 3rd 2022.
So far pregnacy has been easy and symptoms mild, though that doesn’t put Julia’s mind to ease since her last pregnancy seemed to be fairly easy as well.
Julia and Travis fully intend to raise Jojo as a younger sister, and not the oldest of the family. Doing this by telling Jojo about her brave older brother who fought so hard, and protects and prays over her from Heaven, celebrating both their birthdays, visiting him on the anniversary of his death, and keeping his pictures on their walls.
