Hello everyone.
My name is Mollie, I am 24 yo I have a 7 yo step son, 1 year old son, and 2 twin girls that are now angels. Here is my story.
On March 28, 2020 I started having what I thought was Braxton-Hicks at around 7pm. They kept getting worse and worse so we headed to the hospital by the time we got there they said I was dilated to a 10 at 23wks & 3days.
Went and did an emergency C-section and had two beautiful twin girls, Alison and Adalee.
Alison’s lungs were not developed enough and she did not make it. Adalee went to nicu.
On Tuesday, March 31 they told us Adi had a grade 3 and grade 4 brain bleed, and told us to wait a week to see what the next ultrasound showed.
On Friday, April 3rd we laid Alison to rest, after we got a call that Adi had a tension pneumothorax, they put in a chest tube and told us to come up there because they didn’t think she was gonna make it through the night, but she did she recovered.
On Tuesday, April 7th the ultrasound still showed grade 3 and grade 4 brain bleeds. The doctors told us that there was no way she would have a good quality of life.
So we made the hardest decision we’ve ever had to make which was to go ahead and do comfort care and let her be with her sister. They took everything off and the chest tube out and said she didn’t even take one breath so we know we made the right decision.
It seems like we’ve been living in a nightmare we are never gonna wake up from. I am trying to stay strong and not lose my faith.
