Elena’s Story

Our story. Me and my husband got married in 2015, the day after I graduated high school. Not long after being married, I found out I was expecting. We were so excited for what this would mean for us, having a little family of our own. A month after we found out, I lost the baby.

We went on for 9 years trying to conceive our rainbow, reminding ourselves in the process, everything happens for a reason, no matter how bad it seems in the moment. I had several chemicals, each time would end in tears when it was confirmed. We finally decided after 9 years of trying, maybe a child wasn’t in our future, and that would would just love and spoil our niece and nephew. About a week after making that decision, we went and got tattoos, and had a garage sale. The next day, I went down, I had dehydration and heat exhaustion.

Then almost a week later, I took a test randomly, because I had been cramping for 3 weeks waiting for my period to show up. I took the test, set it down, and before I got up, I checked it and to my surprise and shock, it was a super dark positive. I called my husband into the bathroom and showed him and he didn’t believe it. We checked the box to make sure it wasn’t expired, and went and bought more tests just incase it was faulty. I took about 10 tests in the span of 2 days, all instantly positive.

We went to the er to get checked, and it was confirmed, I was 6 weeks along, and my levels looked great.! Then 2 weeks later while I was working, I started to cramp and spot light pink, so we went back to the er and they confirmed everything was still great, and it was nothing to worry about. We did a sneak peek test around 10 weeks and found out that our beautiful rainbow was a boy.! We hit 15 weeks and when my husband opened my car door, I stepped out and felt a popping gush feeling, and liquid and blood poured out. We immediately rushed to the er, trying to not think the worst, and praying for the best. Turns out I had a SCH, and it just happened to pop.

This journey has not been an easy one, but one thing we know for sure is that God has never left our side, or taken His hand off of us. May is when we are expecting to meet our beautiful rainbow baby, he has been 9 long years in the making, lots of tears, and prayers. The best things in life are the unexpected, and he is proof of that.
