Cera found herself unexpectedly miscarrying after 6 years of being in cancer remission. This moment changed everything. The grief of never being able to have children while simultaneously losing one lead to a journey.
After deciding to try to have children and many medical evaluations, it took 6 months of trying to get pregnant again.
She lost this baby very early in March 2023. December 31st of 2023 she found herself pregnant again.
On Feb 14th 2024, she went to her ultrasound appointment at 12 weeks and learned that the baby did not develop past 6 1/2 weeks and there was no heart beat. She experienced was is known as a missed miscarriage.
After 3 losses, it felt hopeless to keep trying but she couldn’t find herself ready to let go. She spent 6 months traveling and enjoying life with her husband. They decided together to work with a fertility clinic to help her chances of staying pregnant.
With the help of fertility treatments she was able to get pregnant quickly but silently suffered many lonely nights in fear and extensive progesterone supplements until her first ultrasound. At 7 weeks “a heartbeat.” At 9 weeks, “still a heartbeat.” At 11 weeks she graduated her fertility clinic.
At 20 weeks, she discovered her “son” She feels him move, and roll, and his health is in perfect order. He is due Feb. 2026 .
