Their journey to parenthood has been marked by both unimaginable heartbreak and incredible hope.
It began with the loss of their first pregnancy through miscarriage, a heartbreaking reminder that even the smallest lives leave lasting footprints.
Not long after, they became pregnant with their daughter, Elsie. Her pregnancy was healthy, uncomplicated, and everything parents hope for. Every ultrasound, every appointment, and every milestone showed a thriving baby. There were no warning signs and no reason to believe anything was wrong.
At nearly 39 weeks, their world was forever changed. Due to a tragic cord accident, Elsie’s heart suddenly stopped beating. A healthy, normal pregnancy ended in the unimaginable, and they welcomed their beautiful daughter into the world only to say goodbye. Though her time on earth was far too short, Elsie made them parents and will forever be their firstborn, deeply loved and never forgotten.
When they became pregnant again with their rainbow baby, Brooks, the pregnancy was filled with gratitude, hope, and the kind of fear that only comes after profound loss. Every kick, every appointment, and every reassuring heartbeat was cherished. After months of waiting, praying, and trusting, Brooks arrived safely on July 11th, 2026, surrounded by an overwhelming sense of relief, gratitude, and love.
Their family has been shaped by grief, strengthened by love, and sustained by hope. Elsie’s memory lives on in every step of their journey, and Brooks will grow up knowing about his big sister, the little girl who made them parents, changed their lives forever, and whose love will always be woven into the story of their family. Brooks will always know that he has a sister watching over him, and that because of her, every moment with him is treasured beyond words.
