We lost our baby girl, Jasmine Grace, who was stillborn at 32 weeks in 2018 due to genetic abnormalities. She had mosaic trisomy 15 and a congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH). It has been the hardest thing I have ever had to go through. I was angry at God because I did not understand why he would allow this to happen to me and my family. It took me a long time to understand that I was not being punished and I had done nothing wrong. Sometimes bad things happen to good people and we do not always understand the reasons why.
After a loss, it is normal to be angry at God or feel as though you are being punished for something you did. Please know, your loss is not your fault. Do not feel ashamed for your feelings, but instead, turn to God’s word to help remember that God loves you and will not abandon you. Take comfort in knowing that your sweet baby is in the kingdom of God knowing only love and no pain.
Use the Bible verses below during your time of grief and remember that you will always have the love of God. If you want to learn more about grief after loss, read A to Z Emotions of Pregnancy Loss: Understanding the Grief Process
