Cheyenne’s Story

We started trying for a baby in 2021 and found out I was pregnant shortly after in August. I was carrying mono-mono twins at the time. We went for our ultrasound appointment and a few more that confirmed it wasn’t a viable pregnancy and unfortunately that pregnancy ended in a mmc that resulted in a dnc at 15w.

I wanted to avoid surgery if possible and opted to take a medication that should’ve helped my body miscarry at home. Unfortunately the medication didn’t work which resulted in a dnc. My body was extremely traumatized from this experience so I took some time to heal and we decided we would try again in a few months.

After taking a short period to heal I got pregnant a couple months later. I was 8 weeks pregnant and supposed to have my first ultrasound. I was working that morning before my appointment and had to go home due to heavy bleeding unfortunately that pregnancy wasn’t viable as well and ended in a miscarriage that day. After having 2 non-viable pregnancies I was starting to lose hope. After my boyfriend was involved in a motorcycle accident we decided it wasn’t the right time to try and have a baby. He needed my help and to take time to heal. It was a really hard time for us but we kept our hope and faith.

After he was able to heal and go back to work we started trying for a baby again. We were starting to lose hope as I found my body was not ovulating properly and I made an appointment with my doctor.

She heard my concerns and verified through bloodwork and testing that my body wasn’t functioning the way it needed to, to carry a healthy pregnancy. My doctor was amazing and so supportive. She was able to help and provide medication to fix my cycle. A few months went by and we were surprised to find out I was pregnant again in June 2023.

I’m due with our double rainbow baby at the end of February 2024. l’m so grateful to say this pregnancy has been healthy and low risk. We’re so excited to meet our little boy any day now. I’ve held my breath through this whole pregnancy waiting for bad news but praying and hopeful. Each time I have been pleasantly surprised at my appointments when I receive good news. Considering this is an experience I never thought I would have due to medical problems l’m so grateful everything has worked out this time. Watching other women go through this experience gave me hope and I hope that I can do the same with sharing a little bit about my experience.
