Shareeka’s Story

9/8/2005 When I lost my first son, my senior year in college. No one talked about miscarriages. I had to deal with my pain all by myself. I was 18 weeks and just had a prenatal visit a few days. Being a first time mom I had no idea what was going on. My now sister in law told me to walk because the baby was on my bladder. So me and my now husband walked the small town as I was sick as a dog vomiting as we were walking.

We ended back on campus and I had the urge to go to the bathroom and that’s when my little baby decided to be born. I was in the community bathroom and had to yell for help. (no one on campus knew I was pregnant until that night) the EMT came and took me and my baby to the hospital. I had bloodwork done and they told me I had drugs in my system. (I never did drugs in my life and never heard of the two drugs).

I got married 3/13/2010 and I wanted to start right away to have children. We went through fertility treatment and got pregnant on our 1st round of clomid!!

9/23/2011 I lost my daughter Paige at 19 weeks the day. My doctor determined that I had incompetent cervix. We took another round of clomid and got pregnant again. Just to lose another child Mason on my 30th birthday. I was scheduled to have cerclage place on 2/8. Years went by… my husband and I separated but were still seeing each other and I found out on 9/8/2014 that I was going to be a mother again!!!

My doctor kept a close eye on my cervix and at 10/11 weeks I had a cerclage placed (not one but two). My rainbow turned 8 years old on April 10. 6 months after giving birth to my son, I got pregnant again!!! At my 18 week prenatal appointment we found out that my cervix had started to open. I go to labor and delivery to see if they could stop labor and place another cerclage but my sweet baby girl Lydia was already in the birth canal. The cerclage placed did not hold up. The McDonald Cerclage broke 🙁

We ended up pregnant again but I didn’t have any signs of pregnancy but missed period which is normal when you have PCOS. This baby stopped growing and I found out via ultrasound with my son that he was no longer going to be a big brother. We named her Leigh. I decided to look into trying clomid again before I turn the big 40. Which did not happen.

8 years passed and on 9/21/2022 I find out that I am expecting again. Another Rainbow Baby!!! My son cried tears of joy that God blessed our little family once again.

I am currently 34 weeks pregnant and due May 24. On April 26 my cerclage will be surgical removed for a scheduled C-section the first week of May due to Baby L being breech. Team Green.
