Rebekah’s Story

My husband is in the military and we had planned on trying for a baby when he returned from deployment in October of 2024.

In November we found out we were pregnant with a baby girl due in July 2025.

Around 16 weeks I started getting really anxious and feeling a sense of dread that she wasn’t safe but wasn’t sure how to process those feelings. I had no physical symptoms to make it seem like there was something wrong but in my spirit I felt there was something off. This lasted two weeks until I went to an ultrasound where the technician saw no heartbeat.

At what would be 19 weeks, I delivered her in the hospital after being given cytotec to induce labor. I’m thankful I could go through labor with her and be able to hold her body to say goodbye. She had several physical anomalies that made it clear she wasn’t made for this world. Genetic tests came back as normal so we don’t have an answer as to why this happened but we’re so thankful for the images and dreams we received showing her in Jesus’ arms in heaven. We named her Pure Grace because her broken body was made pure and perfect in heaven.

Those next few months of grieving her brought a lot of tears and healing. On her due date, July 26th 2025 my period was due as well. We had planned on painting the nursery into a prayer room and invite dear church friends to pray and worship with us to remember Pure. Two days later I took a pregnancy test and it was positive! I am now 28 weeks pregnant with our rainbow baby boy due April 4th 2026.
