My name is Danielle. May 2022 I learned I was pregnant for the first time and was elated. I had what I thought it be a normal and healthy pregnancy. I am over 35 so that made me “high risk”, otherwise I did not have any risk factors.

I loved being pregnant, loved talking to my growing baby and bump. I was so excited. Dec 31 was my due date, I didn’t want to know gender, my husband did.

We then chose to learn gender through a gender reveal with friends/ family late Sept when I was almost in my 3rd trimester.

We were elated to learn we were having a healthy baby girl.

In November I had my baby shower at 32 weeks, it was perfect.

I then celebrated Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day still pregnant, baby girl was too comfy.

On Jan 5, 2023 I was admitted to the hospital for induction of labor as I was 5 days past my due date.

Everything was going great (just slow progress) until it wasn’t going well…on Jaurary 6 while on the monitor in my induction baby girl had a sharp drop in her HR, I then began heavily bleeding and baby girl and I were emergently taken into the OR and I was put under for a C section.

When I woke I was told my perfectly healthy baby girl my whole pregnancy will likely not survive.

By the time (and it was 4mins by the time I was brought into the OR and she was removed from my uterus) babygirl was pulled out of my uterus her HR was 10. She received CPR and life saving meds for 16mins. They then put in a breathing tube, she was on a breathing machine and had invasive lines through her vein and artery in her umbilical cord stump to give her life saving medications and for monitoring.

She had many tests done, and it showed she had too much brain damage from the injury and would not survive.

I held my beautiful 8lb 4oz baby girl in my arms 16hours after she was born as her breathing tube was removed and she transitioned comfortably to the arms of Jesus.
