Vitoria’s Story

Pregnancy after loss… three words carrying such deep meaning and an endless rollercoaster of emotions.

This is Vitoria’s third pregnancy. She and her husband celebrate the joy of expecting their first baby girl — a bittersweet feeling, as they also hold close to their hearts the journey of losing their second baby.

In pregnancy after loss, knowing how terribly things can go wrong, keeps anxiety at its highest. Every doctor’s appointment transformed from innocent excitement into heart-racing fear, waiting to hear their baby’s heartbeat.

Experiencing the loss of a baby is one of the hardest things in life. At 22 weeks pregnant, their sweet baby boy died. They were given the gift of holding him, and with his tiny heart already still, they had to walk out of the hospital with no baby in their arms.

After countless hours of therapy and with the sweetness of their firstborn at home, they are now able to speak about their journey — transforming the survival mode of those early days into a life that honors sweet baby Matias.

Thankfully, after the storm, the calm arrived. Their baby girl was born healthy in early January 2026, completing their family. They now parent two beautiful children at home while continuing to love and parent one sweet one from afar.
